Description
- Late 17th century (1681) cradle-shaped tombstone, small in size. Belongs to Elchin, son of Yohan (Armenian Lapidary, Pr. 4, № 927 inscription).
Front side. The deceased horseman holds the reins of his horse in one hand, while reaching for a loaf marked with the symbol of eternity in the other. Another figure extends the loaf toward the deceased with one hand and holds a jar with the other. Below the servant is a round table laden with food. Also included in the scene are a rectangular object resembling a book and another elongated object of unclear function. The inscription frames the entire composition.
Back side. Crosses beneath two arches, their lower halves now buried under soil. The northern face is bordered with a delicate rope-plaited ornament.
Lateral and upper sides. Empty.
