Description

  • Cradle-shaped tombstone without inscription.

Front side. A hunting scene is depicted, which typically began in the left corner of the carved surface and unfolded toward the right. In this case, however, the sculptor placed the main hunting scene at the end, in the right corner. The deceased horseman appears to raise a dagger in his hand to strike a small ibex. The scene continues with wine jars, a banquet table, plates, loaves, and floral wheels.

Back side. Beneath two arches are very finely detailed cross motifs. In the upper left corner of the composition is a small figure of a lamb or ram.

Lateral sides. A beautiful cross carved in deep relief, with trefoil lobes. The lower section is supplemented with two additional crosses.

    Upper side. Empty.
