Description

  • Cradle-shaped tombstone with flat upper side.

Front side. Under two columned arches are cross motifs, decorated in their lower sections with palm branches. The composition continues with a figure shown with unnaturally long arms, one hand holding a jar, the other a loaf of bread. Integral elements of the eternal feas, a jar, a plate, and a round table laden with food, enrich the scene. The final figure is a musician playing the saz. The figures are distinguished from those on other tombstones by their nearly identical faces and lack of head adornments. The scene is framed with a plaited-rope band, and the pedestal itself is also marked with an ornamental band.

Back side. Under five columned arches are cross motifs. At the junctions connecting the arches, the master decorated the surface with vegetal leaves. The entire carved surface is enclosed within a woven ornament band.

Lateral sides. On one side only is a very finely stylized cross within an arch, supplemented below with two simple crosses. The woven ornament band continues along this side as well.

Upper side. Two small wheels of eternity, an eight-petaled flower, and a two-line inscription that is difficult to read.
