Description
Front side. An example of 20th century tombstone art. Interestingly, although the region preserves many late medieval tombstones and highly skilled masters whose khachkars and tombstones sometimes display ornamentation so finely worked as to resemble embroidery, some 20th century tombstones are quite inferior in craftsmanship compared to late medieval examples, even if many principles are still preserved in this period. The deceased is carved in very simple expressive forms, with a six line inscription beside him. The entire composition is enclosed within a simple triangular ornament band.
Back side. Depictions of three seemingly unfinished church structures, whose carving falls short compared to similar examples.
Lateral sides. On one side only is a geometric ornament enclosed in a frame.
Upper side. Three ornamental bands formed of rhombuses, which at the top merge into the same motif seen on one of the lateral sides.
