Torfavan 13
Description
Front side. The figure holding the bridle of a saddled horse extends his other hand toward a jar. The second figure holds a bowl in one hand and a cross in the other. Beside the jar is the image of a small plate. The carved surface is framed with an interesting border: the master used broad decorative patterns on the right and left sides, and along the upper edge a beautiful trefoil ornament.
Back side. Three columned arcades enclose three cross motifs. The master carefully worked the columns, each with different ornamentation, as well as the joints of the arches. The entire composition is bordered with a plaited-rope band.
Lateral sides. The eastern side preserves an inscription with inverted letters (Armenian Lapidary, Pr. 4, № 1520), while the western side bears a stylized cross motif.
Upper side. Concave, with a slight convex elevation at the center, without ornamentation.
