Description

Front side. The carved surface presents a hunting scene, though it is significantly worn and eroded. Visible is the mounted deceased, who appears to be pursuing a fleeing deer with bow and arrow. The next figure is likely shown with arms crossed on the chest. His head adornment is distinctive, with a pointed shape at the top. The composition is free of additional elements and is framed with a thick meander-like chain.

Back side. Unlike the front, the images here are clearer and better preserved. In the first of two arcades is a cross motif, and outside the arcade a simple linear cross with hooked ends. Beneath the second half-arch stands a full-height figure holding a bowl, with a jar placed beside him. His head adornment resembles that of the second figure on the front. To his right is also depicted an inkwell with a pen. This composition, too, is framed with a wide meander-like chain.

Lateral sides. One lateral plane bears a simple linear cross, while the other is carved with a stylized cross motif in detailed workmanship.

Upper side. Concave, with a convex elevation, and at the edges transitions into a section marked by three grooved lines.
